DLA Piper is pleased to announce that Dean Fealk, a partner in the San Francisco office, has been named an honorary senator of the German economy (Senat Der Wirtschaft) in recognition of his efforts to strengthen transatlantic relations by leading trade, investment and innovation initiatives between Germany and California. The appointment was made at the Bavarian parliament with former German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Hartmut Gabriel and 400 political and business leaders present.
Fealk, co-chair of DLA Piper's International Labor and Employment practice, counsels leading multinational companies on international transactional and regulatory matters. He also advises government leaders and politicians around the world on public policy issues related to international trade, economics and security.
Active in civic leadership, Fealk is an Eisenhower Fellow, Marshall Memorial Fellow and Presidential Leadership Scholar and currently chairs the Northern California District Export Council. A recognized leader in the business community, he serves on the board of directors of the Bay Area Council and the California Business Roundtable. He is a co-founder of Transatlantic West and serves as general counsel of the Halifax International Security Forum. The Daily Journal selected Fealk for its lists of California's "Top 20 Attorneys Under 40" and "Top 75 Labor & Employment Lawyers in California."
